The Piquette Hotel brings a low‑carbon backbone to one of Oregon wine country’s most anticipated boutique stays, starting with the way its foundations meet the soil in McMinnville. Collaborating with Waechter, R&H Construction, Parker Concrete, and Wilsonville Concrete Products, the team poured roughly 70 cubic yards of a 3,500 PSI foundation mix (BL25‑3514N1055) enhanced with 25 lb/cy of Solid Carbon’s BioLOCK 2.0, quietly tucking biogenic carbon beneath a future courtyard of glasses raised and bags unpacked. By weaving a carbon‑negative, biochar‑based admixture into the very first pour, Piquette treats its structure as more than a backdrop for hospitality—it becomes part of the region’s climate story, locking away forest carbon for decades while setting the tone for future material choices across the property.
